WhisperDesk is designed with privacy as a core principle. Your audio files and transcriptions are processed entirely on your local machine and never uploaded to any server.

When you purchase a licence, we collect:

  • Email address (for licence delivery and support)
  • Payment information (processed securely by Stripe)

Information We Do NOT Collect

WhisperDesk does not collect, transmit, or store:

  • Your audio or video files
  • Your transcription results
  • Usage analytics or telemetry
  • Personal files or documents

Local Processing

All transcription processing happens locally on your Mac using the Whisper AI model. Your audio files never leave your device. The application works completely offline after initial download.

Payment Processing

Payments are processed securely through Stripe. We do not store your full credit card number or payment details on our servers. Please refer to Stripe's Privacy Policy for information on how they handle your payment data.

Licence Verification

Your licence is verified locally using cryptographic signatures. The app does not phone home or require an internet connection to verify your licence after initial activation.

Email Communications

We may send you emails related to:

  • Licence key delivery
  • Important product updates
  • Support responses
  • Subscription renewal reminders

You can opt out of non-essential communications at any time by contacting support.

Data Retention

We retain your email address and licence information for the duration of your subscription and for a reasonable period afterward to handle support requests and enable reactivation if needed.

  • Request deletion of your data
